Ethel M Gives Back: a Mars Wrigley Company
Ethel M loves the kids!
American Heritage Chocolate, made by Mars Wrigley, opened their doors to its Ethel M Chocolate Factory to select Title 1 schools in the Henderson, Nevada area on Friday, September 6th as part of its “Reading and Discovery Experience” program in partnership with the nonprofit social enterprise 'First Book'.
The program is designed to address some of the challenges and resource gaps impacting students from low-income households. The activation gave 180 local students the unique opportunity to experience a hands-on chocolate-making demonstration, they explored a 600-species cacti garden, toured the brand’s factory operations and participated in a Reading and Discovery Experience.
The Candy Bomber: The Story of Berlin Airlift’s “Chocolate Pilot” chronicling Gail Halvorsen’s airdrop of candy to Berlin’s children after WWII was read aloud and each student also received a brand-new copy. Each participating school principal also received a $1,000 check to be used for educational resources.
