Telemundo Las Vegas unveils state-of-the-art media center
Telemundo Las Vegas shows off the shiny new digs. Muy bien!
"Our new facility honors our longstanding commitment of serving our Las Vegas’ Spanish-speaking communities and raises the bar for local broadcasting in our market and industry. We are proud to present our new facility to our audiences," said Ramiro Lopez, President and General Manager, Telemundo Las Vegas. "It’s what our community deserves. As the city of Las Vegas grows so does our station, and this building is a testament of that."
KBLR’s new media center features:
- Open Space Layout: A bright and open-space newsroom area that includes dedicated desk ‘pods’ for the KBLR news team, with the layout facilitating increased work collaboration and exchange of information. The facility also features Wi-Fi access throughout, flex-work spaces, phone rooms, a parents’ quiet room, and men/women’s bathrooms with changing tables, among others.
- New Studio: Telemundo Las Vegas’s new facility features a new, modern studio with a 12’x7’ LED array, a new anchor desk, a dedicated weather center, robotic cameras, and new production control rooms.
- Advanced Newsroom Technology: KBLR uses the “Ross Inception Newsroom System” an advanced newsroom tool that improves news gathering and content publishing across multiple platforms including social media.
- Energy Efficiency: The facility was designed to be energy efficient and includes several conservation features. New RTUs or roof top units conserve electricity and solar tubes provide the facility with natural light. LED lighting is also used throughout the building and within the new studio. All displays and computers are Energy Star compliant.
Noticiero Telemundo Las Vegas delivers more than 10 hours of live and locally-produced news programming to Southern Nevada’s Hispanic audiences every week, more than any other Spanish-language TV stations in the market, with daily newscasts Monday – Friday at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm and 11pm.
The new home of Telemundo Las Vegas is conveniently located in southwest Las Vegas at 6380 Polaris Avenue. It is between major highways I-15 and 215, in close proximity to the construction site of the Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
